Martina Attille
- Martina Attille was born in the Caribbean island of St Lucia in 1959.
- She has lived in London since 1961. In 1983, she graduated from Goldsmiths University, London.
- She is a filmmaker ‘for whom representations of black women remain a central and complex narrative device’.
- She was a founding member of the Sankofa Film and Video Collective and collaborated with the artist Sonia Boyce on the design for the set of the film Dreaming Rivers (1988).
- Later, in 1992, Attille and Boyce collaborated on I’m Almost Blushing, a site-specific installation at Duke University, North Carolina.
